Please take a moment and read this blog. I do not personally know this family, but a dear friend that I grew up with is very close with this sweet family and they need all the support and prayers they can get. Baby Pierce was born at 23 weeks weighing 1lb 8oz. My heart and prayers go out to them right now. I just cannot imagine what they are going through, but I truly believe in the power of prayer and right now that is what this precious little baby and his family need!!! Their faith in this storm is absolutely incredible and such a testament it literally blows me away. Follow the link below and go back to the first posting so you get the whole story and PLEASE PRAY for them!

3 Great Years

Honeymoon  Cruise in the Caribbean April 2008

1st Anniversary in Myrtle Beach, SC April 2009

2nd Anniversary Cruise to the Caribbean April 2010

3rd Anniversary Raleigh and Wilmington, NC April 2011

After looking back at past anniversaries I have noticed a constant theme...Quality time with each other, Relaxing, Fun, and Food Food and more Food. This year was no different to say the least especially with the FOOD. Sure we didn't get to go on any extravagant trip or do everything we have in the past, but it was still GREAT and definitely the most special with the baby girls that are on the way! Carl did an incredible job as usual making it extra special...thank you honey you are the best and I look forward to the future xoxo!!!

Baby Shower Take 1

What a special day!!! We are truly blessed by some amazing family and friends in our lives who already love our girls so much!!! Thank you all for making it such an awesome day! We had some fantastic food, the ladies made onesies for the babies (which was such an awesome idea and they all came out amazing), got some incredible and much needed gifts for the girls, and got to socialize and relax. The decorations and the party favors were just beautiful! It was truly a great day and I love and appreciate each of you for all you did for us! The girls are kicking right now saying in their tiny little baby voices THANK YOU WE LOVE YOU ALL!!!

26 week stats according to Baby Gaga

Week 26: Eye see YOU!

Fetal development in pregnancy week 26

~length14 in | 35.5 cm
~weight1.7 lbs | 770 g
At long last your little swimmer can see!

For the first time ever, your wee babe's eyelids have finally opened (remember: they were fused shut previously) and they’re probably having their first moments of sight as you read this (or maybe it already happened while you were brushing your teeth or browsing the internet or something).

In addition to taking in their first visual impressions of their comfy amniotic-filled studio, your little human-bean recently acquired the ability to move their head around.

That's right, if your child were clever enough (which they're not - yet), they could engage in that most basic of non-verbal communication - the head shake/nod. Not to mention, gawking!

In further anti-alien developments: your little super star’s head hair is starting to grow in!

Who knows, maybe a cute little cowlick or two is springing into position right now - the first of years of cute-but-stubborn bed-head.

Your wee piggy's toenails have recently grown in and they're still slowly piling up fat beneath their still-loose-n-wrinkly skin.

Most importantly, their brain tissue and neurons are all developing at a rapid pace, increasing their (genius-level?) brain activity, which will continue to function at accelerated levels for the first eight years of childhood!

Can't wait to see the girls beautiful eyes...I wonder who they will take after?! Are they going to have Carls dark eyes or my blue eyes...is there hair going to be dark or light? So many things this weeks stats make me think about. Just love it!!!

Approved!!!

Yesterday I had my 25 week check up...I was a little nervous for this one because of all the contractions and bedrest and everything that has been going on I thought they may tell me something I was not ready for. But to my surprise things went great!!! Baby a's heart was beating in the 150's and Baby b's was in the 140's both sounded great!!! All the iron I have been taking is finally working and my anemia level has gone WAY up to the point I can now only take 1 pill a day! And my cervix is still closed!!!!!!!! We also did the fetal fibernectin test and I got the call this morning and it was negative!!! Praise the Lord!!!! So that means I got APPROVED to go to my shower this weekend!!! We may even go down early and do some much needed relaxing together and eating at our favorite places we miss so much since this may be the last chance before the girls are here! I can now tell what is going to bring on the contractions (of course that is pretty much any activity more than a few minutes on my feet) so I have to make sure to be extra careful this weekend and take it VERY easy...thankfully my wonderful hubby and family and friends are well aware and always looking out for me. I may seem a lil lazier than usual but it is all for a very good cause and I am totally ok with it at this point!!! So thank you all for the prayers and please keep em coming!

PS When the midwife heard the weight of the girls at the 24 week growth scan she said...woa! that is what a baby usually is at 28 weeks!!! And I have two?! My jaw dropped when she said this...I really don't know what I am doing or how this is possible to be honest, but hey I am stoked for healthy babies!!! Also makes me feel a lil better about how GINORMOUS I am...if I have 2 babies that are measuring at 28 weeks when I was only 24 makes a little more sense for this HUGE belly I have going on!

Memories...

Three years ago today I spent the day at my wonderful bridal luncheon, gettin the nails done with the bridesmaids, a fun rehearsal at the church followed by a fun rehearsal dinner, and finished up at the reception site setting up ending the night with a practice dance with my hubby to be. Such a fun day and so hard to believe it has already been three years! Here are a few picts from the festivities

25 Week Stats

How your baby's growing according to babycenter.com

Head to heels, your baby now measures about 13 1/2 inches. Her weight — a pound and a half — isn't much more than an average rutabaga, but she's beginning to exchange her long, lean look for some baby fat. As she does, her wrinkled skin will begin to smooth out and she'll start to look more and more like a newborn. She's also growing more hair — and if you could see it, you'd now be able to discern its color and texture.

25 weeks: Baby is the size of a rutabagaYour baby rivals the average rutabaga in weight -- about 1 1/2 pounds. (Length: 13 1/2 inches, head to heel.)

Well our girls weighed more than this at 24 weeks so I wonder what they weigh this week?! Just glad that they are growing healthy and strong!!! Their punches and kicks are stronger by the day...if you look at my belly it looks like a punching bag always bouncing and moving I swear they are having constant wrestling matches...Baby B is moved up into my ribs now too. We have our next appointment tomorrow...no ultrasound though so I won't have any new ultrasound pictures or weights. Its just a regular appointment with the midwife...the Dr actually decided that I need to be seen weekly now as long as I am still having contractions and I am for sure. They are not nearly as bad thanks to slowing down everything in my life, but they are still happening so they want to continue to check my cervix and do the fetal fibronectin test every two weeks as well just to be on the safe side. I am thankful that they are keeping a close watch for sure. Hopefully everything looks great tomorrow and we get a negative on the test (it takes at least a day for results) and we appreciate your prayers!!!

Yesterday we had a breastfeeding class for multiples with the couples from our multiple birthing class...it was fun and we learned A LOT plus it was like a semi-reunion!!! I probably annoyed the teacher because I had a bazillion questions, but hey this is a big deal and I wanted to make sure to ask everything we may need to know. I look forward to putting all this new knowledge from all of our classes to good use!

T-Minus One Week!!!

One week from today will be our first baby shower in Wilmington hosted by an awesome group of ladies and I absolutely cannot wait!!! Just look at this beautiful invite (I cropped out part of it with the personal info) that totally matches our nursery bedding...I love everytime I go to the fridge and see this lil beauty!!! I just love everything about this special day...one that at times I wondered if and when it would ever happen and here I sit one week away from today its all about these precious little miracles growing in my big belly!!! Thank you Lord for these blessings and this special day that I cannot wait for!!! And thank you girls for all your hard work and making it happen...love you all!!!
