The Plan of Action

The great news is the biopsies came back normal and none showed any signs of allergies either!!! PtL!!! I was a little surprised there were not even allergies, but we are so thankful that the biopsies were normal!

So after many calls with Duke this week and consulting with the Pediatrician and Pharmacist we are moving forward with a plan of action. Long story short she will start on a new medication called Baclofen. Makenzie has an inappropriate relaxation of her Sphincter between her stomach and esophagus. This medication is suppose to help interrupt the inappropriate relaxation and to help her sphincter stay snugger and tighter. She will also be seeing a Speech therapist/nutritionist at Duke in a couple weeks and be evaluated on her swallowing and stuff like that. So that is where things stand for now. We appreciate all of your prayers and support through this and hope you will keep them coming that this will work and we will not have to even consider the next steps (more meds, feeding tubes, or surgery)!

We will get this happy baby growing and healthy!!!
