One Year Photo Shoot

So you may remember when I posted this sneak peak forever ago…well I am playing catch up on the blog and am finally getting around to sharing more pictures from this fun photo shoot! I made the big cupcakes for the girls (and was just a little proud of myself because I do not cook or bake), the onesies were ordered from etsy, and the wonderful Tonya Mae Photography took the photos. Enjoy!

M and M's 1st Birthday!

On the girls actual 1st birthday we spent the day hanging out together as our family of four. The day started with us getting the girls up together followed by Carl cooking the girls a special pancake breakfast.

After breakfast and a little play time the girls went back down for their morning nap and Carl headed into work for a little bit to get some stuff done so he could spend the afternoon with us. When the girls woke up we had a quick lunch and then headed downtown to meet Daddy at Marbles Kids Museum. We had a blast! We toured the whole place and spent lots of time just letting the girls loose and watching them play with all the different stuff they have to offer. Getting to see Carl watch the girls play was priceless and I am so thankful we were able have that time together!!!

After lots of fun precious family time we headed home for an afternoon nap for the girls and Carl went to finish up some stuff at the office. We decided to wrap the night up going out to dinner at one of our favorite sushi bars which is the same place Carl and I went on our last date before the girls arrived! We ate there a lot during my pregnancy and each week the owner would say "Wow you still pregnant" so it is so cool to take them in there now so she can see how much they have grown.

Talking and walking

Silly girls were walking and talking away. The girls have their own unique language that is for sure, and I do not think they are going to let me in on it anytime soon. They really crack me up constantly and know how to put a huge smile on anyones face no matter what! I love in this video that Makayla is going CHEESSSSEEE for the camera…do you think she is use to her momma taking pictures yet?!

They are on the move!

Watch out world…our monkeys are on the move!!! A few nights ago while changing M and M for bed we were finally able to capture them walking on video! So proud of our big girls! We thought two months ago that Makayla would take off any second after taking a few steps here and there, but in true sibling rivalry Makenzie decided the second after I posted a video of Makayla taking a few steps on facebook last week that she was just going to take off and beat Makayla! So here is a short clip of our silly girls in action.

One year ago today...

We were preparing for the long awaited arrival of our sweet M and M's. Carl and I spent the last day just the two of us (along with our fur baby Lexi Lou) knowing the next day we would be welcoming our miracle babies into this world. We TRIED to just relax and enjoy each other although it was not an easy task. We already had everything in order considering I had gone into preterm labor at 22 weeks, but long story short 15 weeks of bed rest later we were READY!!! It was a long road, but it lead to the most incredible blessings of our lives! On this day this year I will spend it with our little ones preparing for their FIRST birthday party!!!

10 and 11 months

Well since we are in the final countdown to the girls turning ONE in just 1 week I figured why not finally post their 10 and 11 month pictures and accomplishments. As usual for me…better late than never right?! So here they are…

10 Months

11 Months

M and M, the accomplishments you girls made from 9 months to 10 and 11 months are amazing! Every single day you pick up something new. Makayla, you are so close to walking and can say several different things and are just so incredibly smart!!! Makenzie, you are trying so hard to catch up with your sister and right around ten months you began to sit yourself up, crawl, and pull yourself up…we were so excited and proud!!! Makayla still has just two teeth and Makenzie you are working on 4 right now! As far as weight goes Makenzie at 10 and 11 months you have been up and down but are hanging around 15.8 lb. Makayla at 10 months you were around 18 lb, but I am looking forward to seeing where you are at for your year check up! 

We love you ladies so much and are looking forward to celebrating a HUGE birthday very soon!!!
